Thank you so much for directing my attention to the watering guide on your website. It is one of the most useful two pages I’ve read in quite a while! I’ve always understood the deep watering principle, but I didn’t appreciate the volume of water and amount of time to accomplish it. I turned the controllers off and spent several days giving every plant on the property a very deep soak (via the irrigation system, and some even more by hand) and then changed the settings dramatically, from every other day to twice a week for much longer durations. What a difference it has made! I’ve been gardening for 50+ years and have never read such a clear, simple and specific watering discussion. I am so impressed with the wealth of very well-written materials on your site. Where has Shooting Star been all my life? 🙂
